" I have been using HigherData’s Workbook Compare and am very impressed with the depth of useful features and well thought out user interface. It is clear that the designers of this Excel Add-In knew what they were doing when they conceived of and built this powerful and useful tool.

The most notable feature is the Difference Report which, after analyzing two worksheets, displays an impressive collection of information allowing me to not only pinpoint all of the discrepancies between the two worksheets, but to understand exactly why the discrepancies exist in the first place. The results can be filtered to focus on specific columns or other attributes common to groups or clusters of discrepancy information. If the report is too precise, a variance allowance can be adjusted to take into account normal noise that can appear in imported data. Workbook compare will even evaluate cell formulas and locate any that are not the same as the rest of the formulas in a column. One of the qualities I like most about Workbook Compare is that it does all of this without touching the original worksheets! But, if you want to highlight the original cells that are found to be different, Workbook Compare will oblige with the colors of your choice. Very nice!

For power users, Workbook Compare provides the ability to save projects where a project is the collection of rules and settings I create to compare a specific pair of worksheets. While Workbook Compare does an amazing job of determining the best rules given two worksheets to compare, it allows me to edit those rules and settings using a clean and intuitive user interface. It’s these tweaks that are saved as a project so that I can quickly recall them when I need to compare the same or similar worksheets in the future.

Workbook Compare is, without doubt, the best worksheet comparison utility with which I have ever worked. This one is a keeper and well worth the price! "
